The Midwest Literary Walk is an annual literary event in mid-April aimed at highlighting the power of literature and poetry in everyday life. Reading events take place at a range of venues downtown. In the past, these locations have included the Chelsea District Library, the River Gallery, Zou Zou’s Cafe, Just Imagine Bookstore and more. The readings are intimate, giving attendees a chance to interact with the authors. The Community Open Mic is an opportunity for the audience to showcase their own literary talents.
The Midwest Literary Walk is a joint venture between River Gallery, the Chelsea Writers’ Workshop and Chelsea District Library, with support from Nicola’s Books and the Chelsea Downtown Development Authority.
In the past, we have been generously supported by the Chelsea Community Foundation and the Friends of the Chelsea District Library.
